ok I have a question I am hoping someone has any awnser the 302 efi I have in my 79 has the wiring on the ECU for automatic transmission and speed control system. however I have always had a standard AOD hooked up to it so what I want to know is if I go pull a AODE off of a efi 300 what should I need to that I may not have hooked up to wire it in sorry if this sounds stupid I just have never worked with a electronic trans.
To tell you the truth, I don't know of too many guys here running an EFI 302 with that transmission in their dentside. If no one responds, you might try asking this question in the engine swap forum.
I would run an aode behind a 302. I dont really think there is too much of a need for an e4od behind that motor, plus that trans is huge! That being said, i but an e4od behind a 460 efi in my truck, it clears the floor by 1/4".
Now to the wireing. You will need 2 wires from the MLP, they will both go to the pcm. Then you will have an 8 or 10 pin connector that has 2 power wires and everything wlse goes to the pcm. Its really not that hard to wire up, it just takes some patients and knowledge of whats going on. On a side note, you will want an 89-91 pcm because from 92-on the pcm is looking for a digital speed signal from the dash instead of an analog signal from the sensor.
