Bronco stereo ?

Had a couple questions. What size are the door speakers? Is there a dual 6.5 kit for the front door speaker?? Also i'm missing the rear speaker covers on both sides, any idea where I can find those? I've looked online a bit but no luck. Thanks

Junk yard? Don't tell us what kind of bronco you have, You might assume that all the speakers are the same size and shape, why put a good stereo in a stock radio setup that the Bronco has?

1989 bronco xlt 351. It has a terrible deck. It has been wired for amps and has a heavy duty alternator. Atleast that's what I was told. Previous owner even dynomated the doors and most of the back. They just stripped the old 'good' stereo out before they sold it.

What priorities? Why don't you just relax. I'm asking simple questions. And you're lecturing me on my priorities. You have no idea who I am or what my priorities are. What does that comment have to do with a simple car audio question?

g_k50, you can't tell from this dudes 7 or 8 posts he's a noob, obviously hasn't thought of a junkyard, certainly doesn't have a clue there could be different sizes over the years? Or are you the resident Richard Head? Cripes I can't believe how simple it is to be helpful sometimes... Or not. This kind of attitude is the reason people find other sites. Is that your goal?

So I forgot to list my trucks year in my original post. I've been to plenty of junk yards in my local area for my previous vehicle, I dont ever remember seeing any bronco's. It does not matter, if this is how you treat people who are asking simple questions **** it... I guess your 40 posts makes you this forums veteran.

What in the world is going on with this forum lately? I have seen more rude posts from people in the last two days than I've seen in a year. Ryan, I'm really sorry to see you treated like that. This is not normally how things go.

My door speakers are 6" I believe. I could be wrong about that, but hopefully someone who knows for sure will know. A pick-n-pull junkyard would be the best place to get rear speaker covers. The ones near me have a section set aside for pickups, vans, and SUVs. There are always a half dozen Broncos in there.

hey man, don't pay attention to them. andym is right ive seen some rather rude folks on here lately. This place is here for help and advice. I've got 5 1/4 in my 85 bronco and I squeezed some 6x9's in the rear i believe the rear are suppossed to be 5x7's. I was missing a grill also and thought i would show you what i did for a grill.

Did you have to notch out any extra plastic to fit that 6x9? Not only do I have no speaker cover but they also took the speakers out of the back. That pic looks pretty good though probably go with that.

Thanks Andy,

I know i'm a newb and I appreciate your time. I really like this forum seems to have quite a few folks with good bronco experience. I've always wanted a Bronco and finally got one! I just had my rear diff rebuilt, New axle bearings, limited slip plates, and pinion bearings and seals. My limited slip plates actually had chunks taken out of the outer ring and were balled up and floating around the diff. What a difference that made. Thanks again!!

I'm going to need a new rear axle soon too. It was leaking fluid pretty bad. I had the seal fixed, but there is a lot of play in the pinion and it clunks when I take off. Another project.

I also put 6x9's in the back and I had to do a lot of grinding to get them to fit. I used the original speaker covers. It doesn't look factory, but it's passable. But it sounds a LOT better.

I have a buddy who is a heavyline guy at a ford dealership hook me up. I got that whole rebuild parts/labor for $250. I started with fixing a leaky seal and when he found metal chunks floatin' around he told me I needed to get it fixed asap. Think I got a good deal for the job though.
