gear ratio

i have a question to something i was just wondering about. if i had 4.11 rear end and changed it to 3.73, would it change my speedometer reading

Yes it will,you will be running faster than speedo registers

No, it will not change the speedo reading. The speedometer is reading the speed of the rear axle. The only thing that will change the axle speed relative to ground speed is to change tire size. Changing the axle ratio will change the engine speed relative to ground speed, but it will not affect the speedo.
