Hey mine is leaking out the rubber inspect plug so I assume its the front seal or close byWith 123,000 and still shifting smooth it's smarter to put another one in and start over!?Has any one in the Az. chapter used some one local that can be trusted and/or bought a reman. somewhere and found them to be trustworthy If you have some suggestions or whatever let me know and thanks.
hi, kickback...what part of AZ do you live in? if the front seal is leaking you have to pull the tranny to repair the seal. i do know a tranny guy in north phx...real good knowledgable guy! my family has been using him for decades now...let me know if i can help you?, joe
if it is still shifting good and not slipping I would at most put a front seal in it, in fact first I would simply do a flush ( I prefer synthetic) after cleaning with berrymans B12 than run 2 quarts of trans X in it and the leak will most likely go away.
as for a re-builder, I haven't found one in the state who will build a trans strong enough to run in the ranch trucks. I am getting tired of warrantying my labor to replace some one's junk rebuild so I am currently looking for another builder or else I am going back to school and I will re-build them my self.
Hughes makes transmission parts...such as seals, rebuild kits, converters,etc... they have a shop just east of I-17 and Mcdowell rd. hope this helps?! I also believe they will rebuild trannys for you aswell?!
my apologies KICKBACK! i meant to ask if you had joined the chapter...you're not the one who is losing there mind I m...lol. Glad to see you with us. BTW is the leak in you tranny getting worst or no?
I am feeling better now and it is a very small leak unless I drive to Bartlett lake and back towing my 14' aluminum(total weight about 600#)then it spits out about a cup's worth. It has not gone down low enough to add the TRANS X yet. Like I said it shifts good and no other troubles so I am just paying attention and driving it. 124,000 so I must be ready sometime I guess. the scary part is WHO CAN YA TRUST!? it's a E40D and they cost the most,,,my luck. Thanks again, Doug
Call my buddy Bart @ 623-581-2131...he is located around the DeerValley and Cavecreek area...full servive tranny shop. little independant shop he wont B.S. you. My friends and family have used him for a long long time!!!
