The sensor for the fan is mounted on the fuel rail and the fan cools the fuel rail to prevent vapor locking.

If this what you are talking about maybe I can dig up and image of it a little later.

thanks.because the codes..81 and 82 also say thatit could be electro-drive fan failurealong with TAB,TAD solenoid circuit failure and intake air control valve circuit failure,sbs circuit failure.i'mhaving one heck of a time figuring out this fuel injection stuff.i'm like the carb set-up better.it's simple,not complicated.sorry to be a pain in the butt. any and all help would be great,thanks

what would cause the 81,82 codes to pop up? where do they get the signals from? i know 81 says TAD solenoid circuit failure or electro-drive fan failure or intake air control valve circuit failure. 82 is TAB solenoid circuit failure or electro-drive fan failure or supercharger bypass solenoid circuit failure.i don't have a supercharger,so thats ruled out.i now know where the TAD,RAB are,and what they look like.what does the electro-drive fan(s) look like?any and all info would be great.

Not sure where you are getting your information but an 81 & 82 are:
Service Codes 81 and 82 indicate that voltage output for Air Management solenoid(s) did not change when activated.

Possible causes:
--Solenoid circuits shorted to power.
--Solenoid circuits open or grounded.
--Solenoid resistance out of range.
--Damaged processor.

i got my info from ACTRON CP9015 code scanner book. air management solenoid(s),ok i can check into it.i see in the HAYNES repair manual where it shows that.i got the code scanner the other day,i'm just going by what that book says. the possible causes you got makes sense. i'll check those out in the next couple days.only have so much $$$ to go around for the week....thank you thank you for the info subford.

for those who were wondering, i used an electronic cleaner and sprayed the OBD1 connectors till they came clean..... time to make a few $$$$$$.

thanks again subford, i don't have a electro- drive fan.i've got the good old motor driven fan.i thought it may have been a fan in a different place or something.
