yes you can but you really should install a pyro so you dont melt your motor down. also if you dont have a turbo you really need to do the exhaust and some type of intake, which you should do regardless but if you dont do it on a n/a motor its a waste.

The better answer is a question to you.
Do you see any black smoke under hard acceleration?

If you see any, the engine is getting as much fuel as it has air to burn, so more fuel will just be a waste of fuel.

A pyro is an egt or exhaust gas temperature guage. I think it basically lets you know how hot your motor is running , more fuel = more heat. You should keep your eye out for a second hand turbo. I have the banks kit on mine and it runs awesome.

what i have done as well as other is run a home made ram air, take some 4" flex dryer tubing and run it down infront of the grill. i had to cut away to make some room. if you live in the mountains or do any towing you should really get a pyro before you touch the pump.

Do the pumps still work?
Do you know how much pressure they put out?

I have the pumps still in my tanks too. I have bypassed them by unplugging the fuel line in the tanks and running a fuel line down beside the pump . I cut the wires that give power to the fuel pump but kept the wires that run to the fuel guage. I now have an electric pump outside the tank. Seems to work fine.
Easier to replace when it craps itself too.

sounds like they have there years confused, unless someone took one off of an engine and moved it to the 89. bout the only way i can see that being true... may be an oem part, but not an 89 oem.

93 was the first model year for the turbo motor.

Some people look at the build dates and see 1992 so they say the turbo was introduced 1992.5, but the trucks were 93 model year.

The pumps should be low pressure for a carbed 460. They run about 7-9 psi and should work with the diesel. I still run the high pressure pump in my Bronco but have a bypass pressure regulator on the firewall.
