My 1999 Service Manual, (I suggest you get one for your truck, Helm Inc. $$$ but worth it) says to remove the steering gear to crossmember stud bolts, remove insulator bushings, rotate the steering gear control valve housing toward the front of the vehicle, turn the steering gear input shaft to the right until the stop is reached, move the steering grear as far to the RH side of the vehicle as possible, Mover the LH Front wheel spindle tie-rod forward to clear the frame crossmember.
