I have a 96 F250 with a straight 6 in it and a 5 speed. When I am driving in about any gear on a light pedal the engine shakes and the truck bucks, like it is dropping a cylinder. As soon as I push down on the gas a little more it clears right out and runs great. I have replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, the fuel filter and air filter, and also the IAC motor trying to figure this out. Any ideas on what to try next? I have also checked for vaccum leaks and did not find any.
sounds like a possible bad tps. there is a way to check it using an ohm meter. prolly find the how to on here somewhere. anyone have a link? i had them and had to wipe windows cuz of a dammed hijacker.
You have a laundry list of stuff to check out first.
- What's the fuel pressure at idle? Does it jump to about 60 when you take the vacuum line off the FPR?
- Pull the codes?
- What does a vacuum gauge look like if you attach one?
- When was the last tune up, including all filters and ignition parts?
- What's the timing set at? (unlikely to be the direct cause but it would be good to know)

PLEASE HELP
same thing happened to me. turns out I needed a valve job. clyinder #2 was dead because of it. same motor as you too.
Mine developed a slight stumble, only at approx. 1,700 RPM, after I disconnected the battery, which wiped the memory of the ECU. But that is supposed to clear up after a certain number of drive cycles.
