I have an 04 FX4 with leather but no heated seats. If i take apart the dash will all of the wiring be in the truck from the dash to the seats and I would just have to buy a seat heater from a lariat or something. or would I have to buy a complete setup and run all of the wire??Winter is coming fast
These weren't an option until 2007 and even then only with the "luxury" package from what I understand. These are what I will be installing in mine in the near future....
So perhaps they were just a "Luxury Package" option then? Because my '06 FX4 has everything but it seems. That includes consol shift, leather, moonroof, adjustable pedals and power rear slider.
So im wondering if i take apart my dash if the wiring will be there I wouldnt think they would change much of the harness from 04 to 05 if someone has one with an 05 with heated. Basically I want to find all of the stock Ford seat heating system so I can use the original buttons and hopefully not have to run wire.
you need to look under your seats and see what kind of wiring you have. I just put leather seats in my 06 xlt, didn't install the heat option just power. I'm looking at the wiring diagram and there needs to be three wires coming back to the seats from the climate control system; white/red, pink/white and Violet/White (just for the drivers side) and three others for the passenger side. The 12V and ground should already be under there if you have the power slides. Do you have the heated seats button on the dash? Let me know how you make out.

Are the buttons even there, or are you planning on buying them through Ford?
Im still checking price and availability of going with an aftermarket heater or a ford oem one. If i get the aftermarket I am going to try to get the seat heater button through ford and modify the aftermarket harness.
