Erratic Idle
I noticed the other night when it was cold that my truck doesnt keep a solid idle, sometimes its down below the 5 on the tach, other times its up over 1. It only seems to do it when the heater or ac is running, without either of those on it idles pretty constant. Its a 5.4 with an auto in it. It sits around the garage most of the time. Ran some seafoam through it thinking that would work but no better. Any ideas anyone?

what year is it ???
might be the IAC is giving u grieve..
is the idle rythmic ? or totaly eratic..?
my 99 V10 had a IAC go bad and the idle speed would go up and down, amde being stopped at a lite frustrating to say the least...

its a 2001. It seems fairly rhythmic, up down up down, seems like its when the defrost cycles. Even more frustrating when your standing outside talking waiting for it to warm up and it seems like its gonna die every 10 seconds haha! This part, whereabouts is it located?
