Cool no headlights

I have a 89 5.8l . the headlights are good but they do not work all other lights work. seems to be no power to them any ideas is their a relay or any other thing that could cause this.

There is a CB inside the headlight switch.
Also the fuse link could be bad.

Thanks that might help would that be it evan if when I pull the switch all the other lights work. dont seem to be getting power to them.

Yes as the rest of the lights are powered by a different fuse through the same switch.

Ok so their is a fuse right in the switch. The one that pulls straight out from the dash. If so is it hard to get at. Thanks for the info so far trying to figure a couple problems out before i am supposed to go on my hunting trip in a week and half

also one more question is the fuse link running to the starter solenoid on the engine compartment thanks.

No there is no fuse in the switch. There is a circuit breaker inside the switch and if it is bad you have to replace the headlight switch.

It is located on the front RH fender apron, in the engine control harness.

Fuse Link "L" is at D-3 in this diagram.

Thanks I just got back from working on it found two black wires that were attached by a connecter then went to the battery almost right away. spliced a new wire in and it seemed to work after i also wiggled those fuseable links around and it seemed to work one low beem dont work and sometimes when i hit the floor switch to on high beams or should i say turn off high beams the one good low beam will turn off sometimes think i have to splice in better. those diagrams are awsome where do you get them i use a haynes manual and they seem to miss a whole lot. what would be a better book. Thanks again
