They'll have a metric pattern which, as an off-the-shelf item, won't do us any good. The company's name is OTR, and if they will custom drill any bolt pattern and center bore, then warrant them for the road, it'd be an option. When I talked to them a few years ago they only would warrant custom wheels for off road use and, as I recall, they were expensive as heck. A lot could have changed since I spoke to them, but I bet they're still gonna be spendy. Stu
Scott - I just did a pass through again of the Accuride and Hayes-Lemmerz on-line catalogs and don't find any 5 lug Japanese pattern wheels listed. So I don't know where you'd find exact info on the bolt circle, center bore size, whether stud or hub piloted, and what the chamfer angle of the lugs is if they are stud piloted. I do know they'd be metric sized which would eliminate them in my mind. As for swapping the whole axle, you'd want to make sure steering architecture was compatible as well as spring mounts. And if the axle has a coil set up, that'd be a way difficult swap to pull off. Stu
Yeah, the Isuzus, UDs, and similar imports are probably all in the same catagory. Besides everything being metric, the other reason I've tended to ignore these is the fact that the ones I've come across use 16" wheels IIRC. Most of our big truck guys are looking for taller wheels to help with road speed. If taller rims are available, though, it would make them more of an option. And like Scott said, if they'd accommodate disc brakes and offer an aluminum wheel option it'd be worth it to some guys. Stu
Yeah, seems odd. That's why I was so glad to learn of the 19.5s that are available at American Wheel Specialist. For a guy that can't, or doesn't want to, do the search for good used tubeless rims they're a fair option. They don't look exactly like the old ones, but they do the job. Too bad no similar option exists for guys that have the mid year tonners with 6 lug x 7.25" circle. Doing the leg work is their only option unless they have a set made. Stu
