rear end question

what are the arms called that extend forward from the axle up to the frame? one on each side. I am tongue tied and need to find them.

Depends on where you live. I have seen some posts from people on the east coast and midwest complaining of rusted arms. They use a rediculous amount of salt on the roads in the winter, that is what is eating your truck. Mine started life in SoCal and moved to Colorado, there isn't anything even remotely rusty under my 10 yr old truck.

You will find a number of posts here, regarding replacement - they are NOT cheap either. I did mine after 9 years because they looked like they were about to snap. I live in Cleveland where a lot of salt comes from and, MAN do they use a lot of salt on the roads here - it drives me crazy.
