5.4 stops without warning

triton 5.4 engine went from running fine to shutting off. I took off the throttle boddy duct and put some fuel in and engine started. I think fuel problem for sure. I can here the pump run for a few seconds at first which I think is normal. anybody have any suggestions?

Welcome!

You have no codes? Have you checked the fuel filter? After that it may be time for a fuel pressure test.

No check engine light. Fuel filter chanced about 10,000 miles ago. I took the duct off of the throttle body and put some gas in the manifold and the truck started on the fuel I put in. So it is a fuel problem. I guess I could change the fuel filter just in case. I wonder what other than the fuel pump it could be. Is there something that would stop the signal from operating the injectors.

How does it run once you get it going?

Turns out the fuel pump is the problem. Not cheep but how much more than 200,000 miles can you expect the pump to run I guess. This has been a great car and is still in good shape.
