Price Check on a 1954 Ford F350 Steakbody
Hey everyone,
so my dad has a 1953-54 (not sure, would have to look) F350 Stake body truck. It was a ground up restoration a bunch of years ago, but it's been sitting so there's some rot near the doors, and the brake lines need to be replaced.
The V8 runs very strong still. It does not have dually wheels. All original.
He says it's the first year of the V8.
Anyways, he's looking to sell it and has no idea what it's worth. Wants to let it go for a reasonable price, but doesn't want to let it go too cheap.
Can anyone help me out on pricing this?

Way too hard to tell without any pictures, so many variables.
If it helps at all, I considered about $750 to be a really good deal when I was looking for a truck, most of what I saw where around $2000 in my area for barely drivable condition, course I was looking for a '56. However the larger trucks are not in as high of a demand and you can usually get them cheaper. I've seen '55 F-250s to F-600s go for as little as $200 driving. All depends on the market around you and what people are willing to pay.
Personally, I wouldn't sell it. I've never known anyone to not regret it later.
btw, if it's all original the grille would be the quickest way to tell if its a '53 or '54 or even '55. Google images works quickest.

If it helps any, I gave $3500 for my 1956 F-350 dually a couple of years ago (when times were a little better). It has some very minor rust, runs great and has good tires and single piece wheels (albeit 17.5) see a pic in my gallery.
I keep a pretty close eye on these on eBay and a good one still brings around $2 or $3 thousand, really good ones twice that easily. The single wheels might hold you back a little for a 1 ton.
If he means first year for the y-block (OHV) V-8 it is a 54, if last year for flathead (oh baby) it would be a 53.
