Slightly OT

I don't know what tires Jim (megawatt00) has, but I'm sure their life expectancy decreased substantially with his new found power. And, he'll be be need four of them just for the rear.
I have Pathfinder E rated 285's and am getting good life out of them when "being have" and driving conservatively, if there is such a thing when driving a modded PSD. Firestones seem to always be a good long life tire as well.

From the research I have done on them this morning they have been out a little while.Read some Jeep folks reviews and they all seemed to like them. They are about $200 each like most tires of that size.I have been running the D range on several sets and have had good luck, just wonderring if I could get better wear out of the E?I try my best to treat the tires right but not all the time

IIRC, the E rated tire option was only about $15 more for the same tire size, but I could be a little low on the price. I went with them because I tow a 5ver with a 1500# hitch weight, but I do see better tread life also.

I used to run the Firestone Steeltex, which I believe is a predecessor to the tire you mention. I was able to get 70k out of the ATR's on a regular basis. They were a little on the noisy side, but they worked well.

I didn't have as much luck when I tried the Pathfinders as Roland did, but I like my Cooper ATR's. Of course my 265 comes in an E rating, and as I found out, they can run over a 4" x 4" lying in the road at 60 mph without any damage.

I have the kind with a little less thread on them now. My bud that works at Advance Auto was in shock when the lit up in his parking lot.
Sorry about that Barry

My vote would be the Bridgestone A-T Revos, they come in a 285 D but the 265 E's I had on netted me almost 70,000 miles, they were close to slicks but were a great tire overall thru their life, low noise and just a great handling tire in all inclement weather and terain. My Yoko Geolanders 285 D's are noisy, going back to the BS <Bridgestones) when these are beat.

I find the quick shot of adrenaline a good way to stay alert at 5am. Of course too much more of that and I'll be investing in a good set of seat covers.
