We got a 2004 F350 6.0L dually. It has 144,000 miles with no problems yet until now. It is bone stock never touched other than maintenance. When your pulling a load and say you slow down to go around a curve or slow down for traffic and then when you get back in the throttle it kinda of stutters or something like that then you look behind you and the black smoke is rolling. It usually never smokes. But it acts like it doesnt wanna pull for a second and then its fine and goes. This is even with light loads like 7-8000 lbs. It does it sometimes when not pulling nothing as well. Any ideas?
I have a 7.3 diesel so I can't offer specific help, but if you post this issue (or ask the Mods to move this thread) in the 6.0 diesel forum, you'll likely get plenty of help:
oh. well i figured since this was a superduty thread it was it. my bad.
it is but it covers the chassis and suspension "mostly", if you want diesel your better off in the 6.0 area, "not always but thats where guys that own your truck are more likely to be, and this sounds like youve got an engine issue of some kind. good luck

No worries! You'll get help here too, but since it's an engine problem, that forum is specifically for what you have under the hood, not just general chassis-type stuff!! Good luck!
