The V10 actually is on the list. Yours isn't because sometime during the '03 run, Ford stopped using the Texas Instruments part that's having problems.

James... You sent me a msg, and asked me to PM or Email you (about headlights)... However, I can't as you have dis-allowed the two options.

Best you contact me. PM or Email IS allowed.

About 10 years too late and I just can't help but comment that Ford didn't wire in the TI part correctly. It wasn't a bad part.

Even after they knew the problem they continued to use the part in the same manner.

Just a week ago I saw an expedition burnt down next to a house in my town. Siding and gutters on the house are all melted, luckily it wasn't parked in the garage.

I don't follow.

What was ten years too late?

Ford used the part from at least 1999 through 2003, so there wasn't a ten year run of parts use.

The recall for the part goes back to 88.

I've gotten the notice for just about every ford I ever owned from my 92 crown vic to my 96 F250, 89 plow truck, 94.5 diesel work truck, 95 351 work truck, 96 351 work truck, 03 excursion, and I think some other car I don't even own.

Context! With context came clarity, thanks brother.

I wasn't sure how far back it went, that's why I qualified my sentence with "at least" and now that you've filled in the missing data, the blind man can say, "I see!"

I thought it went back to the mid-90's

It is kind of surprising there wasn't a big stink risen over it like the media does with every other make.

Just goes to prove you shouldn't post when you're jet lagged. I saw your joined date of 2004 & assumed I'd found a late post.

Sorry for the confusion.

I am glad to say I never had the brick! lol But we did have the cell phones that had a cord and a base. People always had a hard time with understanding I was calling them from the boat while in the river. "Where are you?" lol

I just have to say THANK YOU for all the posts about the speed cutoff switch recall.
I saw them last night while trying to figure out why my 2001 X cruise light would never come on nor did the cruise control work. I saw the saturated mess all over the wiring harnesses under the master cylinder and couldn't figure out exactly how it got there. I called my local dealer and they had me come in ASAP and about an hour later my cruise control worked (with light) and no more worries about the fire issue.
