Thanks for the deciphering guys! Turns out the motor was replaced with a '66 Mercury Comet GT390 S-motor. Old and and grimey though. Kinda cool reading the history of the motor and the various cars it powered.
My truck originally had garrison power assist. However, at some point in time a previous owner converted it to manual. I was given a full bendix type power steering system off of a F250. Will the bendix bolt on without much modification or additional parts? Sorry if you guys have answered this 100 times. I'm new....
All Garrison/Bendix steering systems were manual. They just added hydraulics. Thus the name "power assist". It's still a manual. I suspect the PO simply removed the hydraulics and left the manual steering gear in place.
Garrison and Bendix systems are totally different, and nothing will interchange.
Do many folks trade parts on this website? Anyone got a Garrison they would like to trade for a Bendix system? Is the Garrison power assist even worth the effort of reinstalling? I have never owned Fords in the past so I have no reference. Thanks for the help.
