ESP is it worth it?

It's time to make the decision, buy the ESP or not. To this point the truck has been great. I have had the turbo vains repaired once. But other than that the truck has had no other problems. My question to guys who have purchaced the ESP is did you need it? $2000 to Ford or in my bank account. I know it sounds like I would like someone to make the decision for me but home many of you have had to use the warrenty and how many of you never needed it?

I do not have the ESP and had to replace the FICM out of warranty. Luckly that has been all. Having the ESP would be good if you need it, you just never know when or if you will need it. Having the diesels one trip to the shop can cost $2,000.

It all depends on how many miles you are going to put on your truck. If you only put on a few thousand miles a year, well then it's not worth it. If you are racking up the miles the way I do - 40,000 so far this year, then it's a must. Don't get the basic one though, get the "premium". If you read the description of the basic one, it doesn't cover the most common problems. I don't have my brochure here, but when I got mine the basic didn't even cover the injectors. I ended up paying an extra $3000, but if you consider the price for one head gasket repair, it is money well spent.

i would get it forsure if you can. like said above our truck are expensive. i've had to pay for pretty much everything on my truck out of warranty by about a hundred miles and the truck was stock, just an exhaust. just think in the next 100k miles would you truck maybe blow a head gasket, need injectors, FICM, EGR cooler. If you know how much that cost out of pocket to pay the shop you will understand. It's your truck your money you know how the truck is better than us on the internet.

Do you have a coolant filter? If not, you should, especially if you forego the ESP. CCV reroute, stuff like EGR blockoff- I'd spend a few dollars on the reliability mods if you don't go the ESP route. Don't know what you have done, nothing in your profile about your truck and mods. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...-my-truck.html Heres a little reading about some mods
