Hello from the new guy...

Hello All,

Just wanted to introduce myself to the group, I'm in Tucson and will have lots of questions on parts location and tech assistance. I recently inherited my Great Grandfather's '53 F100. It's in pretty good shape but it has been sitting for the last 5 years and needs some work.

Hope to see you all sometime in the near future.

Tim

Hello from the new guy...

Welcome, sounds like a fun truck. What motor is in it? A built Fuel Injected 5 liter would fit nicely in there.

Hello from the new guy...

It's got the original 215CID, 6 cylinder and if what my dad tells me is correct - the odometer hasn't rolled over yet, less than 56K miles on it! Unfortunately it was a farm truck for almost 20 years and I've got quite a bit of rust to deal with underneath. But the body looks pretty good, just a few scratches and a couple of minor fender dents.

First step is to get it running with the original equipment, then get it cleaned up. After that I'll have to think about the upgrades. Bad part is I also own a Jeep, always something new there.
