wheel hop

my truck gets terrible wheel hop, and it can become very anoying, especially when unexpected. is there any way to prevent wheel hop? maybe some type of stabilizer/torsion bars that i can weld or bolt in? im sure this topic has been touched on before, but i found little while searching. all suggestions are appreciated.

Yeah, ease up on the throttle. Drive like a normal person and your wheels will never hop

Would wider tires help or hurt wheel hop?

x2...........Really, not trying to be a azz, but its a truck, not a Mustang.......Ease up on things and you will be paying a lot less $$$ in parts, tires, tickets and insurance.

What does it matter? He asked a question and he gets flamed for driving too hard?

I would say a torsion bar would do the trick, know of a couple people that put them on to stop their wheel hop.

Here's the kind I'm referring too, they were from tuff country.

I'm stuck with an open 3.08 rear end. I can't even break the tires loose much less worry about wheel hop...

although it is fun, you really shouldn't abuse your truck like that. let me guess, this is your first truck and your probably 16 years old and you like to peel out at the stop sign in front of your school to look like a BAMF. ahh i rember doing that, ended up costing me a few tickets. have fun with your truck but dont hurt it.

give the kid a break,I'm 27 and i still get after my truck all the time and do the occasional holeshot, besides you guys aren't paying his tickets. If he wants to abuse his truck than more power to him.Don't give him a life lecture on high insurance rates, tickets and all that bs.He wants to know how to eliminate wheel hop.I'm not trying to start anything but I to was young once and drove the same way and continue to do so,but it's my truck I make the payment you don't.Not trying to hijack the thread but just wanted to add my 2 cents and vent a little.Back to the subject at hand though some sort of ladder bar or torsion system will work nicely but you just want to make sure that you don't do so in that you make the rear bind.It does have to have some sort of give to it.

Some of these guys are jealous because there truck wont spin the tires LOL..Check out cal trac bars ( calvert racing ) There not slapper bars , they bolt on and are adjustable , will take all the wheel hop out and plant the back of the truck . No more spring rap and will keep a good pinion angle under load ... Lew

i have seen several of the adjustable trac. bars, but how do you know how to adjust them? what is too much adjustment, and what is not enough?
