What model truck is this???

I bought this old fire engine and am having timing issues but I can't do much till I figure out what engine it has in it. I know its a 1962 Ford C series but thats about it. The VIN is cooru282128. Can anyone decode that and tell what engine is in it, it's a big block gas V8. I replaced the vacuum advance which was not working, cap, rotor, plugs and wires, coil and (-) lead that was bare. The points look a bit burnt but I don't want to mess with it till i know some timing numbers. It starts up fine and idles ok but when you rev it stumbles and backfires through the carb just recently started doing this, used to run ok. Help. Thanks.

Engine 15~

Got yourself a big one there:
C00RU282128 breaks down to:
C00 - C1000 (60 - 63 year range)
R - 534 V8 gas Engine (largest of the Super Duty engines)
U - built at Louisville Assembly
282128 - serial number, built April 1962

31,000 GVW

534 Engine:
-4.50x4.20 b/s
-15486372 firing order
-266hp, 481 tq
-7.5:1 cr
-4v
-mech lifters
-plug gap .030
-dwell 26-31, (w/ transistor ign 22-24)
-point gap .017, (w/ transistor ign .020)
-ign timing 8 degrees
---note in a '58-60 book they showed btdc timing based on octane
85-88 4 btdc
88-90 6 btdc
90-92 8 btdc
92 - up 10 btdc (I'm guessing you don't want to pay for AV or racing gas at the consumption rate of a 534)
-cyl pressure 150
-valve clear. .020 both int & exh - hot
-idle 550 mt, 500 at
