What you need to do is find a friend who knows these trucks to hold your hand while you are learning. Just look around your town until you see a nice truck like yours that runs extremely well and walk up to the guy (or gal) and say, "WOW! Really nice truck!". Then talk about the truck. Ask lots of questions. Make sure that person knows you are learning.

I promise you, he loves his truck and loves talking about it. Usually, he will be willing to pass his knowledge around. After all, somebody taught him all he knows. There are multitudes who will tell you they know all about these trucks. If you are looking at the truck, you'll know he really does.

In the mean time....make sure you plug your SPOUT back in.

I remember it well, it was 1970 something and I had a fast 68 Camaro. Clifford Queen said, "Hey we can make it faster!". So let him hack the mufflers off, re-time the engine, adjust the carb and change the plugs.
Only cost me $400 to fix it.

Speaking of Clifford, he had a farmer friend who had a big gas tank on the farm. This guy would sell gas to Clifford for $.40 a gallon but he would only sell it to Clifford, Late at night and Clifford would have to be alone in the morning to pay him. I was a pretty stupid kid back then and I believed him. It only took 3 nights for the farmer to catch us. Thank God it was the 70's and the cops in those days were cooler.

Clifford did the world a favor and hung himself. He had turned into a useless adult. I guess he finally figured it out.

Well if everyone on this forum had "a friend to hold their hand" there would be no need for this forum then now would there?

Why the smart *** reply? I thought I gave you excellent advice. Buy a repair manual. Use all of the resources available to you to learn. Because it is very obvious that you have much to learn.
