240 Sf will cover every square inch of the truck and also double up on the larger flat spots as well as allow coverage on the inner and outer door skins.

And then your lookin at about 8 LLP mats if you want to really step it up.

I know thats a large chunk of cash to spend on something no one will ever see but it will make a difference.

You can try emailing or calling ANT (623.533.8193) over there and throwing around my name and maybe get a better price.

Just tell him that Kingsuv from SMD and Diablo Audio Technologies sent you and maybe you guys can work a deal.

Thank you very much for the info. Are you going to be at SEMA this year? If so, are you going to be exhibiting anything?

No booth plans for us at this point. We sell direct to most the competition scene.

Sema and CES are very expensive, and unless we picked up 100 dealers or so it's just not worth it. Our products aren't build for the simple system guys

I will check out the second skin. I want the best I can get for the F250. It will be a much better truck with a good sound deaden installed. I will get the stuff & then strip the truck & lay it in. I'll use the dynomat in my Ranger. Its not enough to really do much in a 4 door F250 but it will cover the whole cab of the little truck. I know after I did my last truck it was like a different ride. I foamed every place I could in the body panels. I used a spray on deadener inside the doors on the outside skins. I can't remember the name of it. I used fat mat on the floor panels & firewall & dynomat on the cab walls & roof. The roof made a huge difference. Sound deadening is a great investment in your ride. Pricey but worth it.

Sounds good.

Yeah, I know how much it is to exhibit. I work for a machinery manufacturer and I set-up and work two big shows a year. We have a relatively small booth (90x50) and when all is said and done we are over $150K (per show) just for the booth and utilities, let alone two weeks of labor and travel expenses.

I looked at your website and it looks like you have a quality product. Are all of your amps built to spec, or do you offer a "Standard" line? I have never put together a system that is over 4,000 Watts, but I really love that hobby.

Thanks again for all of the info, and good luck on finishing your project. I can't wait to see the finished system. I am sure that I will have a ton more questions for you once you are finished.

Yeah, the shows are nutz. My hats off to those who do it every year.

Our products are mostly for the hard kore guys. Our small 1k amp puts out about 40% over its rated power. and our 4 channel will smoke most off the shelf brand speakers if not watched.

We are working on a few smaller amps for the more mainstream market, however production number really jump to make the production worth the machine time.

No big time money backing us so, we have to watch the sense to make the dollars

Wow, those are some pretty decent sounding amps. What speakers are you planning on putting in your Excursion? Based on your experience, what brand of subs/speakers do you recommend? I would love to do something with my X, but I don't want to lose any cargo room...It looks like I just need to get a second one. It is the perfect vehicle for a huge system, so I can't wait to see what you do with it.

Deciding on gear can become it's own 20 page topic.

What I am planning on for the Excursion is 6's and 8's from this company.

Home

And it looks like 16 - 15's from this company

DC Audio - Woofers

as far as loosing cargo room. If you want a little bass then you will have to give up a little room. If you want a lot of bass then a lot of room

What level are you going with? So, 16 -15" subs? WOW!! That is going to bump! Are you going to do anything with the glass? Will it hold up to that much pressure? That is amazing. Good luck. I can't wait to see the finished truck. Keep us updated as you progress.

No worries on the windows. It would require way more pressure then what I could provide in that truck. Anyone who says their store bought system broke their window is full of crap. At shows we get those stories from people all the time. They then follow it up with they sold it or got rid of it because it was too loud or they didn't want to replace the windows anymore

For this truck it looks like I will be using the LVL 4 XL's

Here is how she was back in the day:

Got some links to products or is it home grown wiring?

Db wise it did about 152 on the dash sealed up. 155 on the floorboard with the door open. In this type of setup ported poxes are king. But once you get to an extreme type setup then a bandpass box is where it's at.

The wife's truck is never done Most of it is, but I'm always changing amps and trying new things with the box. Right now she has a prototype amp that does about 8k on 12v and has seen as much as 12k on 18v setup

Some of it can be home made. others like the dome lights can be purchased already made.
