So I just now broke down and parted with a little cash and became a supporter. Thanks to all who have helped me over the past few weeks on my 01 F250, I've found this site to be fascinating and very informative. I'm not much of a wrench, but with the help offered here I'm sure I'll be doing much more of my own work since there's really only one diesel mechanic in town and he tends to be the sort that just throws parts at a problem until it's fixed. My GP replacement cost over $1400 last year, wish I'd found FTE earlier, I would have known the parts cost about $250 and the job could be done by a carpenter. Or maybe just a $45 GPR, I'll never know.
Way to go Brad ! The badge looks great up there. I have saved a ton of money and made a ton of friends on FTE. Heck, I spend $20.00 just cutting my grass ! So there............. enjoy and glad to have you on the site.
Congrats on becoming a supporter. You're right about this site being informative, not to mention friendly. You'll gain a lot of confidence just reading through these threads and knowing there's help available if you get stuck trying to do something.
Congrats on your badge and welcome aboard. You will become the wrench you thought you never would be if you stick around here. And the customer service with the sponsors is the best you will find. Also a great place to get good deals on the parts you need. No more stealerships.

Congrats Brad you are now officially part of the best family that has ever been formed on the web!!
Thanks guys (and gals) this seems to be a place where NO ONE gets flamed for a dumb question because we non motorheads have lots of them. In the short time I've been here I've seen the same type of question asked over and over again, when a simple search could have answered the querie and not even gotten on a thread, but you guys are awesome dealing with us non-informed types. I came here with a (now what I'd call simple) oil leak, and you people have actually opened up a whole new world for me. I got a fantastic PM from Ken and found out he was in Afganistan and soon to be shipped home, hope to meet him some day.

The only dumb questions are the ones that are not asked. We were all at one point in time.
