Aftermarket stereo install question

Guys-

I'm installing and aftermarket JENSEN stereo in my 2006 F-250 diesel. In order to use the steering wheel controls I an using a steering wheel interface from PAC audio. The wiring instructions call for connecting the interface unit to a wire on a 24 PIN connector. I assumed that was on the fuse block, when I called Crutchfeld, they said it was on the back of the stereo. I have not removed the old stereo yet, but was wondering is anyone has any experience with doing the steering wheel interface. Any help and pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I didnt have to do this to my F250 but had to put an interface type thing on my 85 Mustang, Do you have the wiring harness adaptor for the new headunit? if not get that, That plugs into the stock harness that plugs into the stock radio, wire one end of the Interface onto that adaptor(should be labeled), and then other end to the Harness for the Jensen headunit.

Headunit and Headunit Plug==Interface==Wiring Adaptor==Stock Radio Plug/Harness

hope thats understandable...

Have the interface, just trying to ensure I'm hooking it to the right wire in the truck, got the headunit taken care of. Thanks for the info though.

I used peripherial's on my 08 when I put my Pioneer Nav system in. Everything you interface with is on the back of the stock radio harness. Usually the interface for your radio and the steering wheel control device work together and is outlined in the manual that comes with it.

Got it, there was nothing in the instructions about where the particular wire was. I'm thinking fuse block and it apparently is on the stock wiring harness like you said. As soon as I get some more free time, I'll give it a go. Thanks for the help.

Go to the 12volt.com if you need help. It will tell you where to find the wires you are looking for but this should be a connector to connector situation. You only have to splice between the interface units and the aftermarket stereo unit.
