Wanting To Install Aftermarket Stereo In My XLT

Hello all,

I'm wanting to install an aftermarket stereo in my '16 F-350 XLT, I have contacted Crutchfield and they tell me that the wiring harness that connects to the factory harness for the stereo does NOT have the ACC-Delay wire, so I will lose the ACC- Delay option, is this true, anyone else have this problem?
I had an aftermarket stereo in my 2012 F-350 but it was an XL with no power options as well as no ACC-Delay, so it wasn't a problem.
Also I would like to keep the steering wheel audio controls, are there any downsides to getting the wiring adapter kit, seems like I read somewhere it can void a warranty or something because of the little "brain box" the kit comes with ??

What is your all's take on this situation?

I'm mainly wanting the aftermarket stereo to have a backup camera.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have the Kenwood DX593, I purchased from Crutchfield with the harness, and the Maestro to keep steering wheel controls.

I didn't do anything special, and my delay works as original.

Same here with a Jensen VX 7020 purchased from Crutchfield along with the Maestro and factory harness kit. In fact, I installed it and used it for 2 years in my 2014 F250 and moved it into the 2016 when I purchased it 9/16.
Crutchfield tech help is generally reliable, but they have steered me wrong a time or 2 when installing a Pioneer from them into my 2007 Mustang GT.

I just installed a Joying Android head unit in my 2002 F250. Love it. Comes with the iGo Nav app. Easy to install a backup camera.

When I put mine in last week I could not use the ACC delay option. I had to wire my power so that I have to manually turn it on and off from the stereo.

I forgot where, but I purchased a wiring harness for my '08 that was recommended here on this site. It worked fine with my '08 stereo, do a search.

I thought all you needed was a car to iso harness. The joying stereo comes with a stereo to iso harness.

I was more thinking about the dash kit.... which metra kit?

You do not need a dash kit. You do have to dremel the top and bottom lips of the opening to get it to fit.
