The rule should be American flags only. If you live in America you should speak English and fly an American flag. If you want to speak Spanish and wave a Mexican flag you're in the wrong country.
Banning the American flag is simply un American. I personally have no problem with people from other nationalities showing thier pride for thier homeland so long as they don't dis-respect the American flag or the USA in the process.

I agree with ya about the flags, disagree with ya about the language (and I dont even live in america)
You should have to know the countries official language, and since the states has none (as far as I know anyways) , I think people should be free to speak whatever they want.
In canada, I believe people should know at least one of the official languages, and if they want to speak others ones in addition, more power to them.

English doesn't have to be "official" here. It is common knowledge that English is the main language. But if illegals get amnesty, they may vote to get Spanish the "official" language. If someone is speaking their own language within earshot of someone who doesn't speak that language, it is considered to be rude.
I wouldn't necessarily say its rude. I grew up in Germany and visited alot of countries. I didn't find it rude for them to speak in their own languages their, nor do I see it as such here. Did some of them think it was rude when we spoke in English, probably. It's possible, in some cases, one of the parties might be a recent immigrant who has not had a chance to learn/master English. Plus not everyone is able to master new languages so must stick to their native tongue. But to each their own.
