I'm looking to purchase a V10 F250/350 in the near future. What's the best year for the V10 between 1999 and 2007, if there's any difference at all..? Also, are there models that have specific continual issues (ex.electrical problems)?
2005-up is the 3-valve, with the Torqshift, which is a very reliable package. Johnny Langton had an issue with his (early?) 2005 with cam followers, but haven't heard it from anyone else.
For the 2-valve, stick with a 2003-2004, as they have the long-thread heads, although you still MUST maintain the plugs, no matter what year.

Yep,it had one cam follower with a defective roller bearing. Other than that-not an issue. I've talked to others that have worked on a few with this same problem, and it seems to be isolated to the early 3V engines. Must have been a supplier QC issue.
