tore up my dana 60 rear end it is a 4.09:1 i have a dana 70 with a 4.1 which im gussin is a 4.10:1 is there gonna be a big bind in the drive train if i use the dana 70 in place of the 60. it is in a 79 f250 with auto trans with a 203 transfer case.
No problems at all. The slight difference in ratio is sooooo minimal that you will never notice any difference.
As far as the truck knows, the ratios are the same.
There won't be an issue for two reasons:
1) the one already stated about minimal ratio difference and
2) you have a full-time transfer case that has a differential in it that allows the rear end and front end rotate at different speeds (assuming you haven't installed the part time conversion kit)

This is a true statement except for when the case is in the "LOC" mode. Then the outputs are equal and binding can occur if the front and rear ratios are different.
