F250 speedometer?
I just bought a 92 F250 4x4 with the 460 and 5spd manual trans. When driving down the road the speedometer jumps all over the place. I already replaced the sensor in the rear end and it made no difference. I also looked over the tranny and transfer case and I don't see any other speed sensors. Am I missing something? Any ideas? It's likely that there is a short in the line that appears when the wires are moved around. Either that or you could have something wrong with some sort of resistor. I'm not sure what it is but a saw a post about it a few months ago.

Make sure there are no missing teeth on the tone ring or build up of metal particles in the rear end lube. I suggest to pull the rear cover and inspect. If there is any side to side movement in the carrier, with the associated side to side movement in the tone ring, it is an indication the carrier bearings are shot.
