Have you sometimes came across something and figured if they did it another way it would make it so much better? If you've ever done an oil change on a 70's Ford pickup then you'll notice what I've done immediately. So little things have you guys done to make things better on your vehicles?
Ford originally had the oil drain come out the side of the oil pan for some reason. When you changed oil it ran all over the engine crossmember making a mess. I relocated the drain plug to the rear of the oil pan so this will never happen again!
good idea, but it looks like all the heavy scum and dirt will still be in there after you drain it. there's a little bit of a lip where your drain plug is...
Its at the exact same height as the factory location (which goes for pretty much all the Ford v-8 steel oil pans). It can't go any closer to the edge as there is a threaded plate the plug screws into. On a brand new engine I won't have an sludge with todays oils and hopefully I won't have any dirt in it!
