I think y'all are smokin something (and not tires). Thats the silliest lookin new truck I think I've seen its so out of proportion. Its cool because its different, kinda like a stepside truck, but as a truck it seems to be more of a burden than anything. I mean I dont work my truck as much as many do, but the 8 foot bed is just to dang usefull to give up. I suppose most you all tow more than you haul, I guess I haul alot more than I tow. Even if its jut camping gear, seems I run out of space with the 8! I'd rather ford be the first to offer something like a 9.5' now that would be the sheet! Guess it wouldnt sell well though since everyone, even the SDers, want the short beds... thats half the reason I got the SD just to get the long bed.

"C10 Longhorn"

there have been beds longer than 8' before

When towing goosenecks and fifth wheels, a longer bed helps. You can take tighter turns before you crush your cab.

Got myself one of the last '08s. When they first had them at the auto shows around here with graphics on them, thet called them "Tonka trucks". Think the toy mfg. gave them crap about using the name so it never really stuck. They stopped making different colors, I think in 2004, so after that you could only get black or white. They require a whole different fender, as the fuel filler is in the fender on a shorty rather than the bed on a LB. Great bto hyave all of that carrying capacity and still have manuverability. I tow a fifth wheel, and already had a slider hitch, so the short box was at the top of my list. I wanted a black one, but the General said it had to be white to match the 5er, and since she was letting ME get a new truck, I got white!

Well I wanted one REALLY bad to the point I found the fenders, axle and some other parts for my 06, but never had the money to do it. Reason for me was size. Mine was a SC and I only had X amount of room to park it. I wanted a DRL when I bought the 06, but could not afford it. I towed my 5th wheel for 4 years (short box) and never broke a window. I had the slider hitch and it seemed to be fine for me. Well last month when I went to finally order my DRW truck, they said no more shortbox....that sucked.

So now I have an 8' bed, and no where to park it !

I'm with you, I just don't see the advantage. It has less cargo room, and has clearance issues with a gooseneck. If you like the looks, then you like the looks, but on that same note I don't care for the shortbed/dually look... heck, I don't care for the shortbed styleside look either, but that's JMO.

Found one....flew 500 miles to pick it up and drive it home

I LOVE a SWB!

I love the look, I love how it handles and turns in a parking lot, and I LOVE the fact that I can protect it

Short beds are goofy looking. They look like a cat that was kicked in the ***.

There is one for sale up near me it is black with a cap and it looks pretty sweet. Was actually debating it but then I'd have to get my CDL for business purposes towing a 14k trailer (would be over 26k), so that ended that. Funny enough I just saw one of these about 5 minutes ago before I read this thread, go figure.

I agree, those SWB Duallys are awesome! If I ever win the lottery you can expect a knock on your door.

I guess calling that a short wheelbase is a matter of opinion... There are wheelbases that are shorter.

That bed on that Dodge is awesome! I think it is a modification, not a production vehicle. I don't think Chrysler ever sold a Ram 4500+ with a traditional truck bed. Look at the location of the fuel filler. Someone took a chassis cab Ram 4500 and modded a dually bed to fit. I have thought that a mod like this would be something cool to do.
