AOD issues
I swapped my 302 out for a 351w in my 71 F100.
The AOD in the truck had a pump wine so while I had the motor out I swapped the front pump. The old one did have excessive wear on the pump gear face.
Now that I've put everything back together, the tranny will not shift out of first gear. I tried jacking up the rear tires and the tranny would shift into all gears without issues, but when i drive down the road it doesn't let out of first.
Recently, I tried driving down the road in D, had to rev to about 5000rpm for the trans to shift into second.
Anyone have any ideas? I think I might have a gummed up valve body, but the part about it shifting ok with the tires in the air concerns me.
If the replacement pump I put in was not generating enough pressure, would this cause these problems?
I have an aftermarket LOKAR tv cable and have adjusted it properly.
