Yeah nice day yesterday. Got some of the yard hay mowed to help dry.
Today I'm fighting a flooded basement. Even with weeping tile and backflow valve. The ground is so saturated at my place that water is coming in around at the base of the basement walls.
Getting wet vacs and trying to move stuff upstairs. No room for all this stuff.
When will the rain stop. One day of sunshine and another 4 of rain. That is how it has been the last 2 weeks here.
No sump PUMP. I'm on an acreage and my house house is on a small ridge. It's just the last 2 years we had so much water. Now with nearly 2 weeks of rain we are really saturated here.
The road to my place was flooded last year with all the water. They built it up a foot. But it is again with water flowing across it.
My neighbor across the road has a backhoe at his place now. He has a 2 year old house. They dug down and he has a gas power pump going in the hole they dug to pump water away from his place. He has a sump pump. It cannot keep up. He is also on lower ground than me.
For now I vacuumed enough and have towels and bedsheets rolled up and where the water is seeping in I'm directing to my floor drains.
It is coming in 5 different places.
I never needed a sump pump. I'm on higher ground. Like I said saturated. We need some dry days for it to go away.
Rain stopped here, but cloudy and threatening.
I finally got my diesel up and going again. It is wet working on the ground. My 85 still have to put exhaust on it. But hard with water around the truck.
Still have 2 more days of rain forcasted.
