We still have rust in the south, just not so rampant. The engine that came out of my truck was basically clean, a little oil, some surface rust, but nothing major. The new motor came out of the north, and the block had a LOT of rust on it that needed to be cleaned up before the install.

 

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought in the south it wasn't too bad to the point where it was non-existent.
