So its been about 4-going on to 5 days now that my truck has been acting up braking wise. Cant exactly remember how it started but i have been trying to diagnose it myself and my front brakes tends to stiff'en up on me when I come to a stop and when i do come to a stop air come's thru the brake pedal. could it be the brake pedal itself i really havent had time to take it to a mechanic but would you guys think its the brake assembly or a Aired up Line .
After 1 or 2 pumps it stiff'ens up and i really have to put work on it to stop
please help with some info and oppin.
thanks
Tony

More info would help. This is the Excursion forum and there wasn't a 99 Excursion. Do you have a F-250?
Air through the brake pedal? What do you mean? There isn't any air line down there.
yes i have a 99 excursion, well when i pump it , it gets stiff and if i come to a stop i can only hold it down because if i let it got it stiffens up as if i had the car off and wont release til i hit the gas or drop it in neutral. it may not be an airl line but what ever it is it sounds like air is leaking out of the pedal
and brake fluid is full. so i guess i will have to just take it to the shop and have them figure it out

You may have an Excursion built in 1999 but it is NOT a 1999 model. It is a 2000.
Same as mine. Mine was built 10/99 but is a 2000 model.
If you have a 99 Excursion it must be a 2000 model as we know it in the U.S.A. We only know of Excursions made from 2000-2005 sold in the U.S.A. and a 2006 model sold in Mexico.
Whatever year model it is sounds like from your description that you have a vacuum leak in your power brake booster or an air leak in the vacuum hose going to the power brake booster. My guess is the power brake booster. Best of luck, and I think it will be easy to pin the problem down once a mechanic looks at it.
