ok this is the first time i have used sea foam so i did what it says to do on the can as far as pouring into the carb my truck has dual exhaust and when i restarted like 5 minutes later it only smoked out of the pass. side ?? is this normal ?for as many miles as my old truck has it should have looked like it was on fire
yeah. the stock intakes are dual plane. if you didnt run it back and forth between the left and right barrels, you only fed one side. i just pour it in one side to start and continually go back and forth at an easy, steady pace, then pour a whole bunch in the middle till it stalls. let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes, crank er up, and run the crap out of it.
I wouldn't pour in enough to stall the truck. Maybe a possibility of hydrolocking the motor?
Usually it stalls out. Some people allow the brake booster vacuum line to suck up an entire can of Seafoam. That's when I would be worried about hydrolocking the engine. I measure out 1/4 to 1/2 of the can, and slowly pour it in. I find that is better than just sticking the vacuum line in and allowing it to suck up the entire can. I think that's when you are asking for your engine to be hydrolocked.
