Smile C6 fit

Will a c6 out of a 1987 F250 2wd 6.9 fit a 84 f250 2wd with a 6.9 with out modifications?

I was concerned that there might be a an upgrade in the electronics that I might have to change

No electronics in a C6 trans, and your 84 should be carb.

You are correct, no electronics, but I think you missed that he has a diesel. The diesel has it's own bolt pattern on the bellhousing, and it has a special variable vacuum switch on the throttle to control the c6, but since he is swapping one out of another diesel, there should be no problems at all. My 89 has a 7.3 diesel with a c6, and it would fit too.

They are both diesel so you should be good to go and the C6 has no electronics what so ever.

I have an 87 6.9 diesel engine and C6 trans in my 84 F250, dropped her in myself... no mods needed! No difference on the 6.9/7.3 C6 transmissions, they were all the same.
