Over this past weekend me and my buddy swaped out my dyeing E4OD for another one. My truck is a 93 f-150 351 4x4. I don't know what year the other E4OD was out of but I do know it was out of a 92-96 body style like mine. I also know that the transmission I got is for sure a E4OD, due to the 20 inch long pan and the 20 bolts holding it on. Everything went together fine except the wiring harness on the passenger side. At first it didn't fit,but we worked with it and got it to go on right. I am pretty much sure we didnt screw up any of the pins. So it crunk up fine and drove fine until it came time for it to shift into second, I had to do it manually. Also the torque converter is not locking up, I dont think? Also if I just drive it in drive it won't shift to second unless I run 1st up to like 20 then let off completly and when it shifts to third(or suppose to) it skips right to fourth and bogs my motor. So it has got to be a problem with the wiring harness I think. Anyway.......HELP
If the transmission came from a '95 or later the solenoid pack connector and pin-out is different. There is supposed to be a replacement connector available from Ford. Other posts on other websites indicate it also comes with new pin-out instructions.
Ford or go to a junkyard and swipe one. Hopefully the parts counter jockey will understand you need a solenoid pack connector kit for a 95-on E4OD. No guarantees...
