I checked my fuel pressure after having started my bronco the other day and it fell on its face after it started, then had a hard time starting again. Well my fuel pressure with my first turn of the key was 20psi. Then I turned the key again and it went to 40. Is my pump not priming enough initial pressure???
The specification is 35-45, does that mean on the first turn of the key?? im guessing it is. Any ideas?
Might be the sock on the in-tank fuel pump, might be the fuel filter but I'm assuming that you checked that first.
My 1990 Bronco reads no fuel pressure when the truck is initially turned to run position and I hear the pump run. After starting the pressure goes up to 35-38, goes up to 40 when the fuel pump regulator vacuum is removed. That's as expected.
I recently replaced the sock on my in-tank fuel pump and the truck runs better as a result.
