Lowering Ex?
I have a 4X4 Ex that I am interested in lowering so that aging parents can climb in.
Does anyone have any advice? Can I just remove the blocks from the front and rear end, shortened shocks and snubbers and stuff like that?

Snubbers and shocks won't do anything. I don't see how you could lower it it the front because they are made with minimal spring to frame clearance now. Any thing you do up there is going to give you a rotten bone jarring ride. Low profile tires would help and maybe a second bar below the running board.

Kelderman Air Ride make an air ride kit that lowers up to 5 inches when sitting still (2 inches when driving), but I believe its very pricey.

We bring along a step stool and thro it in the back when we are visiting them.....
Seems to work well for the few times we need it....
Now if they are in and out of it all the time, we don't take the Ex....

Thanks Guys. I'll make a ramp. I should have sufficient room to store it.

DJM Suspension has lowering beams for the front. They are advertised in the latest Truckin Magazine. They are called dream beams. Now you know.

Sounds like the ol' dropped axle in the early Fords.
