I have been reading the posts and the searches that the rear Hellwig anti sway bar is the way to go. My EX is 2wd v-10. I could benifit from better handling up here on the twisty's I don't tow and don't plan to just like the Ex for everything else it can be used for, and I do use it. The problem is where is the least expensive place to buy one?
Yesterday I finally got to tow one of the dump trailers with the X with the Hellwig sway bar.
To be totaly honest I'd now rather tow the dump trailers with the X than the F250. It squats but some air bags would help that. In the past it would sway a little on the corners but not at all now.
Of course the dually is still the number one choice for towing but the X with sway bar really impressed me. I found 14 mpg towing the dump trailer empty with the X and I get 10mpg empty with the DRW.
One related question: does the Hellwig come with the links and everything you need to install on an Ex that didn't come with one originally? I'm in the same boat on my '01 2WD.

My 3 did - at least the 3 times I had them installed I just paid $40 for the install and didn't have to buy any other parts
Sounds like it would be a great help with my Ex. Just leaving my house going down the road there are some real steep off camber turns that usually net about one crash a week. The Ex roll's still a little to much even with the new Bilsteins installed. I wonder also if I looked into a salvage yard here for a wrecked F - 250 and pull the sway bar off of that. Some say they would have put the ford part on, but do to the price went with the Hellwig. The ford bar looks so skinny though.
I put the Hellwig on my '03 Ex 7.3L when I first got it. Took my time. Not a hard job. Made a tremendous improvement. But then, I did not have a factory one.
Then TS Performance 6 position chip. K&N FIPK but with an Amsoil filter. 4" MBRP turbo back. They made a great improvement in power and miledge. About 1.5 added mpg around town. I never thought that a street diesel could smoke tires as it can, if I care to. Recently drilled & slotted rotors. What an improvement they are. No pulsating when stopping. No fade from deep water. Bilstein shocks, also, recently. And my Airlift bags came today.
Lot's of fun. Like when I was a kid "improving" my '65 Mustang.
I started putting Hellwig anti-roll (as they were called then) bars on my vehicles then. The best thing you can do for your ride and handling.
