Reason: to properly ask a question
Years back I installed a 4-bbl intake manifold onto a 2-bbl engine. The distributor from the 2-bbl engine did not fit properly - it would not seat down all the way. Forcing it into position would damage the oil pump. We managed to do that.
This may have changed for later engines, but make sure that distributor fits properly.

you have to get a socket. 5/16 i believe is the size or something close to it. and rotate the oil pump by hand counterclockwise so that you can get it to line up with the distributor and it drops in like butter. i like to use a nutdriver so theres no chance of dropping a socket in it.
