I was taking out my drivers side glow plugs and all of them came out except one, The shaft is stuck in the hole still. The rest of them came out with ease except this one. Is this bad? I was hearing that I might have to take the head off?? Let me know what you guys think Thanks
dont panic. get your self some penetrating oil (pb blaster, deep creep,) whatever you like and spray it down the hole. what happened is, the glow plug has swelled on the end and is lodged in your cyl head. you have to pull it out nice and straight. my situation was similar to yours but i had one stuck in the pass side too. if i would have had something like this, i would have been successful GLOW PLUG PULLER long story short, i pulled the motor and removed the heads. if you take your time, and work carefully DO NOT RUSH, youll be fine. let us know how you make out.
Thanks for letting me know, I am going to try that today. A diesel tech was telling me that that cylinder smashed the tip of the head of the glow plug in return damaging the cylinder head and not making the truck start. My main problem is that when i tried to start the truck the engine is moving so slow its like your doing it by hand, I figured there might be fluid in the cylinder so i decided to take the glow plugs out to see if anything shoots out of the cylinder.
Has anybody sucessfully used one of these?? I'm half tempted to coat the sleeve/rod with some 5 minute epoxy and crank the nut back down tight and live with 7 glow plugs vice 8 as I can't afford to have the truck down to start pulling heads or worse if you break it off and it drops in the cylinder!!....
