coolant question

i have a 2001 excurision.i have owned it since new. went to change coolant yeaterday. it was green. i thought it was supposted to be yellow/orange, by this year. the question is, is it safe to use the e-05 orange/yellow coolant in this motor. or should i use the green because that is what was in it. i remember reading that some motors should only use green. thanks

The switch was made in 2002. But you can put G-05 (gold) stuff in if you do a complete flush.

Yep, what Joe said. Or if you choose, opt for the even better Extended Life Coolant.
