Fan Clutch
Is there a quick trick to changing the fan clutch, or to lock the pulley that it is on, a buddy told me that a quick smack of the wrench with a hammer will free the F/C up but its a no go, just keeps spinning,
do i need to take the belt off to lock the pulley ?
my fan is seized on, my truck sounds like a plane taking off!

ok i just found a thread about changin the water pump, they have a Ford, specialty fan clutch tool, its bascially just a fork, I can just make one here at work, anyone know off hand what the distance between the forks is? I measured and got 2 and 1/8, this tool simply slides in to hold the 4 bolts on the idler, acts as a wrench.
the wrench for the fan clutch is 1 and 7/16.
I will post a couple pics for reference.
