If you have electrical components turning on and off when you hit a bump you probably have an ignition switch problem, change it out they don't last forever.
Yeah, it sounds like my old Ranger, go over a hard bump and most of the dash instruments, wipers and stereo go dead.........just ease the ign. key forward a little and everything comes back. The ign. switches DO wear out.
Well the only thing that cuts out on mine is the radio, most likely a wiring issue....although it doesnt lose power. Just doesnt play anything till i hit the dash.
Any other ideas?

Reason: Added a question
I bought a 95 F150 6cyl 4x4 about a month ago for $300
the guy I bought it from replaced the ign module, the coil and the distributor. it ran fine for a while then went back to not starting all the time.
when I bought it, it hadn't run in 3 weeks
I used a chilton and kept thiinking these parts can't be bad. has to be something else. I scratched my head for 3 days
then a co-worker said "wouldn't be the first BAD NEW part"
with that in mind I re-did the troubleshooting and
I replaced the pickup coil in the brand new Orielly distributor and now I drive this truck every day
my point I guess is, NEW PARTS DOES NOT MEAN ANYYTHING, get the manual out and run the troubleshooting, use a meter and follow closely,it's a little confusing but it works, forget about what's new and look for what's not working.
I also found a good ignition diagnostic worksheet on therangerstation.com, made it alot easier to do
