Using a crane?

Consider using an engine lift.

Or, bolt some chain to the intake--you'll have to be creative, possibly using the carb mount--be careful. Then use a 2x4 or 2x6 or 4x4 long enough to rest on a solid surface--not the fender--outside the engine bay, and still extend over to the other side so you can lift it.

Double check all bolts front, back, under the valve covers etc. Been a while since I worked on one of these.

The manifold weighs about 80lbs. That, plus stuck gaskets and whatever sealer was used are working against you.

Constant pressure, maybe a little heat around the gasket surfaces, a little tapping here and there, and it should spring free.

Two people working on it would be better.

When you put it back, you'll need two or a crane to set it straight and not bugger up gaskets or have one pop out on you.

Good luck, you may get a better suggestion.

itll come off, just gota work at it. like stated before. its reallly heavy so its possible its loose, you just arnt budging it. not calling you weak, but it was everything i could do to get it pulled up enough to slide it forward 2 inches. im putting it back with a engine puller. sooo much easier

Double check all the bolts are out, and a bar between the head and intake with a little pressure and pop it should come loose.

Or you can take a screwdriver or a spring bar between the block and the intake on the back and apply a little pressure and work it around carefully. It should then just pop off.

I used the pushrod holes to lever against the intake.
